0 My New Single Has Been Released!
My latest single is out! It’s entitled “Macon,” in honor of the town where the Allman Brothers Band lived and worked. “Macon” is an instrumental in Southern Rock style. I wrote it with my producer, Michael Cornett. He played acoustic guitar on the track. Hal Roddy played bass, and Thomas Pinson played drums. I played electric guitar and keyboards. The basic concept is that, magically, the ABB get together at a mysterious studio at an undisclosed location somewhere in the cosmos. The Brothers play the main theme together. After that, Duane takes the first solo, then Chuck, and then Dickey. Gregg is there throughout the proceedings on organ to hold things together and establish the basic tone. After the solos, the Brothers play the main theme again. The tune ends with some ABB-style riffs.
“Macon” is humbly intended as a tribute to one of the greatest bands of all time. Nothing can replace the ABB. NOTHING. I wish that they were still making music together. I miss them.

0 A New CD From A Friend, Chris Curtis
Chris Curtis and I have been friends for a long time. Chris and I were in a band (“Cradle”) together back in the 1970s. Although he is a drummer, Chris has always enjoyed strumming on the guitar, and he has written numerous songs over the years. Our old band recorded a few of his songs in the ’70s, but Chris hadn’t recorded any new songs since then. His wife, Viola, has encouraged him to start writing and recording new material, and some of his old friends, including me, have done the same. In September, 2016, Chris spent a week in the recording studio with producer/engineer extraordinaire Michael Cornett and me in Ellijay, Georgia. The result is a new album of love songs entitled “Songs From The Edge Of The Bed.” Michael played acoustic guitar and bass on the album, and I played electric guitar and keyboards. Chris played the drums. Of course, he wrote and sang all of the songs. CDs and downloads are available at: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/chriscurtis1
You can also stream the album on Spotify.
I think that people will really like Chris’s CD. I hope that you’ll check it out!
